Flyers flying with the airline can soon use high-speed wifi onboard at no cost following a recent partnership with the billionaire's satellite company.
No-cost plus Fast Internet Available to Everyone
British Airways stated that the complimentary, “fast and dependable” internet offering from Starlink is set to be available for customers in economy, premium economy, or premium cabins as of the coming month.
Widespread Implementation Across Several Airlines
The parent firm of BA, IAG, announced it had finalized an agreement involving Starlink for providing connectivity coverage for 500-plus planes within the group's operators, which also include the Irish airline, Iberia, and Vueling.
Smooth Internet from Gate through Landing
BA explained that the introduction for this system formed part of a £7bn “modernization” program and would provide lag-free connectivity access to flyers starting at the gate to landing, including when traveling across oceans and far-off locations.
Customers may link multiple devices and won't need to require a unique access code.
