The attacker has scored five goals in ten La Liga appearances so far this term.

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to fans for his reaction when substituted in Sunday's intense match against Barcelona triumph.

He was substituted in the 72nd minute and expressed his disappointment by going straight down the tunnel.

The Brazilian eventually reappeared to the bench and, following his side's 2-1 win, attempted to approach the opposition's opposing player during unpleasant final whistle incidents.

"Now I want to express regret to all the Real Madrid fans for my behavior when I was replaced in the derby," the player posted on X.

"Just as I have already done during the latest session, I also want to apologise again to my team-mates, the club, and the club president.

"Sometimes emotion overcomes me because I always want to triumph and support my side. My winning mentality stems from the affection I have for this team and all it represents."

He joined Real from Brazil in recent years for £38.7m and has notched triple figures in 335 appearances.

But his career in the Madrid is uncertain with reports in the past few months suggesting that Real would contemplate permitting the 25-year-old leave if they were to receive a suitable offer.

When he was taken off on Sunday, broadcast footage from network the service captured him remarking: "It's always me! I'm departing the side! It's better if I leave, I'm leaving."

In his new post on the platform, the athlete commented: "I vow to keep fighting constantly for the benefit of Los Blancos, as I have acted since the very beginning."
